Spiny Flower Mantis (Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii) is small sized, but truly magnificent creature, maybe one of the species that fits the definition “flower mantis”. Uncommon body shape and coloration with rich pattern makes it perfect sit-and-wait hunter in the nature where they hiding on blooming flowers.
For keeping conditions this species is more demanding than many others and will not tolerate improper temperatures or humidity, also it needs very good ventilation. So you will need to prepare everything prior of purchasing otherwise you’ll risk to lose them very quickly.
Adult specimens of Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii can be feed with Green or Blue Bottle Flies (Lucilia sp./Calliphora sp.), Lesser Wax Moth (Achroia grisella) or Pallid Roaches (Phoetallia pallida). Nymphs up to L4 instar are feeding on fruit flies (D. melanogaster/D. hydei), older instars on Green Bottle Flies.
